Moor Pool Heritage Festival 2025

The 16th annual Moor Pool Heritage Festival took place on Sunday 14th September, and, despite the rain, you showed up in your hundreds to make it a fun-filled day to remember! Whether you’re a longtime resident or a first-time visitor, we hope you had a great day.

The festival was part of Birmingham Heritage Week and Heritage Open Days, and the theme for this year was ‘Spotlight on Architecture’. We explored Moor Pool’s architectural secrets through various heritage displays, trails and tours, with stories around every corner.

There was a packed programme of tasters and demonstrations from some of our regular groups, with festival favourites Sovereign Brass Band and Brandhall Community Choir providing an uplifting soundtrack. We were also treated to live theatrical performances from the Luke Players and One Day Theatre.

The Bowls, Snooker, Circle Tennis and Skittle clubs were open for people to explore and children were kept entertained with craft activities, Lego corner, bricklaying fun in the Estate Office, face painting and a bug hotel trail.

Speaking of bugs, the new Moor Pool bug hotel, Bug-ingham Palace, was officially opened by MPHT Trustee Phil Simpson and children who had helped to fill it with nesting materials earlier in the summer.

We closed the festival by presenting medals to everyone who took part in our Moor Pool 5k Summer Challenge. Thanks to their walking, running and rolling over the six-week holiday period, we’ve raised over £1,600 which will go towards our Moor Pool Hall refurbishment project.

There was a lovely buzz around the Estate and we’d like to say a huge thank you to our Trust Office staff, Trustees and volunteers for working so hard to put on this once-a-year celebration of heritage, history and community spirit.

Moor Pool Heritage Trust is a charity dedicated to conserving the heritage of the Moor Pool Estate and we rely on your generous support to do this. If you enjoyed your day and would like to help us preserve Moor Pool’s unique character for future generations, please donate. Thank you!
