Celebrating the End of Our 10th Anniversary Year: A year to remember!

What a year it’s been! As we reach the end of our 10th anniversary celebrations, we’re taking a moment to reflect on everything that’s made 2025 so special for Moor Pool Heritage Trust and our wonderful community.

When we began this milestone year back in December 2024, our goal was simple – to celebrate a decade of community ownership, heritage preservation and community spirit. Twelve months later, we’ve done just that and so much more!

A Year Full of Highlights

From our volunteer party in December 2024 to the final festive gathering of 2025, this year has been one of connection and celebration. We’ve welcomed new faces, reunited with old friends and showcased everything that makes Moor Pool such a unique and cherished place to live.

Some standout moments from the year include:

Our anniversary celebration event in December 2024, where we raised a toast to ten years of the Trust and to everyone who’s made it possible.
Five fun and competitive Fish & Chip Quiz Suppers, that challenged brains and provided lots of laughs.
A series of five engaging Heritage Talks, on topics ranging from World War 1 to Brutalist architecture.
Completing work on a permanent ramp at the side door of Moor Pool Hall, improving access for our community.
School holiday activities throughout the year, providing families with a safe space to play and create together.
Moor Pool Heritage Festival in September 2025, where visitors discovered the fascinating stories that make Moor Pool’s past come alive.
Installing a beautiful new bug hotel on the Circle, with thanks to the Moor Pool Wildlife group.
Launching Warm Welcome Wednesdays, with the aim of combatting loneliness in our older community members.
Ringing in the festive season in true Moor Pool style, with our Santa’s Sleigh, Santa’s Grotto and Carols in the Hall events.

Reflecting on Ten Years of the Trust

A decade ago, local residents came together to protect something truly special. Since then, Moor Pool Heritage Trust has worked tirelessly to safeguard our heritage spaces, from the Hall and skittle alley to the allotments, tennis courts and open green spaces that give Moor Pool its character.

Over these ten years, we’ve seen what’s possible when people care deeply about where they live. Volunteers, supporters and neighbours have kept Moor Pool not only standing but thriving – ensuring it remains a place where history and community go hand in hand.

Looking Ahead

As we turn the page into a new year – and a new decade for the Trust – we’re filled with gratitude and excitement. The work continues: maintaining our beautiful estate, preserving its heritage for future generations, and keeping Moor Pool a vibrant, welcoming place for everyone.
