Towards the end of 2024, we transformed the former Trust Office (under the Main Hall) into a new archive room, where we can conserve and protect Moor Pool objects and documents for future generations. We hope to properly store and catalogue our archives in this room, and also have a space where visitors can look through the ledgers and rent books.
The next step is to apply for grant funding for improved environmental monitoring equipment, conservation heating, improved display and storage, and remedial conservation to some of our older ledgers.
Three collections of Moor Pool objects were donated to us last year and we would love to receive more now that we have dedicated space for them. Get in touch with Barbara at manager@moorpoolhall.com if you have any objects, memorabilia or documents that you would like to give to us.
