You’ve found the Oak named after Queen Elizabeth II which was planted as part of the Queen’s Green canopy initiative that began in May 2021 to honor the Platinum Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II in 2022. To increase and protect the native tree cover, people are urged to create this special gift for the Queen, to mark 70 years on the throne.

Under this initiative, an oak sapling, kindly donated by The Alscot Estate in Warwickshire, was planted in the Nettlefold Garden on November 14th 2021. The official unveiling of this tree on the estate was on June 5th2022.
