Heritage Talk: Irene DeBoo, ‘Louisa Ryland’

Louisa Ryland was one of Birmingham’s most prominent benefactors of the nineteenth century, donating millions for the provision of hospitals, church, schools and parks, especially the land for Cannon Hill Park. She also provided half the funds for the prestigious Birmingham School of Art, the other half being donated by Tangye Brothers of Smethwick.

Irene DeBoo was for many years the head of collections at the Black Country Living Museum.
