Join us for a fascinating heritage talk based on the information that 8 volunteers from the Friends of Birmingham Archives and Heritage (FoBAH) discovered in the archives of the Library of Birmingham about the health of mothers and children between the years 1914 and 1924. It will show that despite the First World War and economic recession, health improved dramatically and the deaths of children under the age of 1 were reduced by 35%. The problems and pioneering solutions are still relevant for the health challenges of 2024.
Tickets £3 on the door, pre-booking not required.
